About Us
Madtown Ballroom is a UW-Madison student organization that was founded in September 2007 by passionate dancers Erika Cianciaruso and Treveon Roseberry. They wanted to share their love for ballroom with others so they started teaching free weekly beginner lessons to students, volunteered as instructors for an adult ballroom class at the Eagle Heights Community Center and also built the performance team. Each year more and more students sign up for the beginner classes, and the performance team continues to grow; the current facilitators are very excited to see what's in store for next year!
Our Mission Statement: Madtown Ballroom's goal is to continue to educate the UW students and Madison community about ballroom dancing in a fun and wallet-friendly manner.

"The beginner classes every Monday made the start of the week so much more fun! I now really feel at ease on the dance floor. But most of all, I loved getting to know the people there, I have become friends with quite a few."

"I've always loved dancing and I have experience in hip hop, but I had never done ballroom before. Nevertheless, I was interested in learning ballroom and was encouraged to try out for the performance team in September 2007. I am glad I made it because I had an amazing experience. The team performed during primetime at an NBA Milwaukee Bucks game! I am no longer on the team, but I still attend the beginner lessons to not only continue expanding my "dancing repertoire," but also make lasting friendships with great people who share my love for dancing"
